Details:

Check in Dublin Connolly (gate for platform 4) for 11.35 departure train for Arklow.

We head due south along the coast enjoying the magnificent seascapes for much of the way as far as Wicklow Town where we swing inland to the mountains and experience the "Garden of Ireland" (as County Wicklow is known) at its best.

On arrival at Arklow, we join our coach for a journey through the Vale of Avoca, taking in the village of Avoca, or Ballykissangel, where we can visit the Avoca handweavers (see the weavers at work).

Plenty of time for a pint in Fitzgeralds Bar. We continue to visit the ancient monastic settlement at stunning Glendalough.

We return by train to Dublin Connolly station at approx. 18.30 (6.30pm).
